Reser's Macaroni Salad recalled for undeclared allergens
Reser's Fine Foods Inc. is voluntarily recalling some Reser's Macaroni Salad because it contains milk and soy, two undeclared allergens according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent April 3.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Christopher Wicker, a public health advisor for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product is affected by this recall:
- Reser's Macaroni Salad, 16 ounces: UPC 71117.19007 with a "use by" date of April 24, 2017
The UPC can be found on the side panel of the package and the "use by" date on the edge of the lid. No other UPCs or "use by" dates are affected by this recall.
To date, no illnesses have been reported related to the product covered by this recall.
Those who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk or soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
Customers who purchased these products at the commissary should return them for a full refund.
