Talking Rain recalls drink due to taste and odor issues

Talking Rain® is voluntarily recalling specific lot codes of bottles of its Sparkling Ice® Cherry Limeade according to a recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency’s food safety office sent June 29. The company initiated the recall after customers complained of the product tasting and smelling “off.” 

The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, lead consumer safety officer for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelve       

The following product is affected by this recall:

Sparkling Ice® Cherry Limeade 17 ounce: The product is sold as a single item, as well as in multipacks of the affected product and in multipacks containing a variety of other unaffected flavors. The product subject to recall can be identified by the following information that is displayed on the neck of the bottle. No other products made by the company are part of this voluntary recall.

Consumers who purchased the affected product are advised not to drink it and to call the Talking Rain customer center at 855-201-4333 to receive a coupon to replace their purchase.

Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
