Snack Support Products recalled in Europe
The Defense Commissary Agency is issuing an internal recall affecting only Europe Area commissaries of all ready-to-eat food products from Snack Support GmbH @ Co., Plant #GM-0230, because a routine lab sampling identified a potentially serious result, according to a recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency’s food safety office sent March 4. The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves. Additionally, all products have been removed from the affected plant.
All Snack Support ready-to-eat products to include fruit salads, meat and cheese salads, sandwiches and wraps with meat, egg and cheese and catered meals are included in this recall.
This recall affects Europe only; no CONUS or Pacific stores are affected.
