Smartfood Delight Popcorn recalled
Frito-Lay is voluntarily recalling select bags of Smartfood Delight Sea Salt popcorn sold in specific variety packs because the bags were inadvertently filled with cheese flavored tortilla chips, which contain undeclared milk allergens, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Nov. 3.
Those with dairy allergies run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.
Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, lead consumer safety officer for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following products are affected by this recall:
-
Smartfood Delight Variety Pack Sack, 16 count, .5 ounce bag: “Use by” dates of Dec. 4 or 18, and 11-digit manufacturing code which includes “AM” in the second and third position (example: xAMxxxxxxxx)

The individual recalled .5 ounce Smartfood popcorn bags have a “guaranteed fresh” date of Jan. 1, 2019 and a manufacturing code of 615325107 printed on the upper front panel. No other products or flavors in the variety packs are being recalled and no other Smartfood, Smartfood Delight or variety pack products are affected by the recall.
