FORT GREGG-ADAMS, Va. – During the holiday season, military commissaries are expanding operating hours to offer more shopping opportunities for eligible patrons, the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) announced.
“As our patrons shop for their holiday meals, we want to remind them that their commissary is here to provide the highest quality product at the lowest price possible to help them save at least 25 percent on their grocery needs, and that includes items for their festive meals or game-time snacks, prepared foods, deli and produce platters, baked goods, candy and more,” said Robert J. Bunch, executive director of DeCA’s Store Operations Group.
“We encourage our military community members to check their stores’ schedules as they plan their shopping trips and use their commissary benefit to take advantage of huge savings, dietitian-approved products and our online shopping/curbside pickup service.”
Commissaries will be open for holiday hours (closing at 4 p.m.) on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 and close two hours early on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31. All commissaries will be closed on Thanksgiving (Nov. 28), Christmas (Dec. 25) and New Year’s Day (Jan. 1).
Patrons are reminded to check the “Store Information & Holiday Hours” box on their store’s webpage for specific operating schedules.
