Pictsweet recalls frozen okra
The Pictsweet Company is voluntarily recalling select packages of its breaded okra because the packages may contain glass fragments, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Jan. 15.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Christopher Wicker, a public health advisor for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product is affected by this recall:
- Pictsweet Farms Breaded Okra 12 ounces: UPC 0 70560 98377 8 with a "best if used by" date of Nov. 3, 2018, and a production code of 3086B C, 3086B D, 3086B E, 3086B F or 3086B G. This information is printed on the back panel of each package.
Consumers with questions about the recall may contact the Pictsweet consumer affairs line at 1-800-527-0986 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT.
