PeroxiClear 3% Hydrogen Peroxide Cleaning & Disinfecting Solution recalled
Bausch + Lomb is voluntarily recalling its PeroxiClear 3% Hydrogen Peroxide Cleaning & Disinfecting Solution because product testing revealed occurrences of residual peroxide remaining in the lens case, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Oct. 1.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Christopher Wicker, a public health advisor for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.

Bausch + Lomb announced the recall after product testing found occurrences of residual peroxide remaining in the lens case beyond recommended product specifications, according to a letter from the company. Residual hydrogen peroxide above product specifications could result in symptoms of burning/stinging, irritation, red eye and, in some situations, other more serious health concerns.
No other Bausch + Lomb products are affected by this voluntary recall, and there have been no customer complaints to date associated with these products.
Customers who purchased any of these products at the commissary should bring them back for a refund.
