Nestle recalls select batches of Hot Pockets due to foreign material

Nestle USA is recalling select batches of their Hot Pockets Garlic Buttery Crust Pepperoni Pizza Brand Sandwiches because they may contain clear plastic and glass, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Jan. 15.

The material could pose a choking or laceration risk and should not be eaten. The company has received a report of a potential injury associated with the ingestion of the product.

The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.              

The following product is affected by this recall:

• Nestlé Hot Pockets Garlic Buttery Crust Pepperoni Pizza, 12 count packs: UPC 43695075113 with lot number 032220323 and batch codes: 0318544624, 0319544614, 0320544614 and 0321544614

The lot number and best-before date are located on the side of the label.

Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
