Mini Babybel Gouda cheese products withdrawn
Bel Brands USA is voluntarily withdrawing a limited quantity of Mini Babybel Gouda cheese products because of an unsatisfactory taste and odor according to a recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency’s food safety office sent Feb. 12.
As of Feb. 9, the company has received 14 consumer complaints; however, to date, no health problems have been reported.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this withdrawal to all its stores, said Chris Wicker, a public health advisor for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
The following products with batch code LE0081B and a “best before” date of July 7 are affected by this withdrawal:
- Mini Babybel Gouda, 6 count: UPC 041757002190
- Mini Babybel Gouda, 10 count: UPC 041757680473
Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
