Metamucil Capsules withdrawn
Proctor & Gamble Company is voluntarily withdrawing specific Metamucil Capsule products, due to a labeling defect, according to a recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency’s food safety office sent Feb. 1. The affected products are safe and meet the company’s quality standards.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this withdrawal to all its stores, said Richard Stith, chief, public health division, DeCA headquarters and support center at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product is affected by this withdrawal:
• Metamucil Capsules, 160 count: UPC 03700040511
No other Metamucil products are affected by this withdrawal. Proctor & Gamble is working to redesign the product label with a goal to return the product to shelves by early March.
Customers may return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
