Land O’Frost Black Forest Ham recalled
Land O’Frost, Inc. is voluntarily recalling selected Black Forest Ham products due to mislabeling according to a recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency’s food safety office sent June 26. The recalled product is accurately labeled as Black Forest Ham on the front of the package, but is mistakenly labeled as Honey Smoked Turkey Breast on the back of the package.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, lead consumer safety officer for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product is affected by this recall:
- Land O’Frost Premium Old World Style Black Forest Ham, 1 pound resealable package: UPC 5190001605 with a lot code of 8117D and a “sell by” date of Aug. 10
The recalled products bear the establishment number “Est.500K” inside the USDA mark of inspection. There have been no confirmed reports of illness.
Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
Consumers with questions on the recall may call Land O’Frost Consumer Information Line at (800) 762-9865 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST.
