Lactaid cottage cheese recalled
HP Hood LLC is voluntarily recalling specific containers of their Hood, Lactaid and Penn Maid brand cottage cheese due to the potential presence of foreign material, specifically plastic pieces, according to a recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency’s food safety office sent Oct. 26.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, chief, public health division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
This voluntary recall is limited to select 16oz, 24oz and 32oz Hood, Lactaid and Penn Maid brand containers of cottage cheese products with “Best By” expiration dates between 10/24/22 and 12/12/22.

Lactaid 4% Cottage Cheese, 16 ounces: UPC 41383155482 with “best by” dates of Oct. 24, 31, Nov. 7, 14, 21, 28, and Dec 5
No adverse effects have been reported. Customers should return it to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
