Kraft Singles American Processed Cheese Slices recalled
Kraft Heinz is voluntarily recalling over 83,000 cases of its individually wrapped cheese slice products due to a manufacturing issue that may allow a strip of the wrapping film to remain on the slice after the wrapper is removed, creating a choking hazard, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Sept. 20.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, supervisory consumer safety officer for DeCA Headquarters and Support Center at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following products are affected by this recall:
- Kraft Singles American Pasteurized Prepared Cheese, 16 ounces: UPC 0 2100061526 1 with “best when used by” dates of Jan. 10 – 27, 2024 and will contain an “S” and “72” in the manufacturing code
- Kraft Singles American Pasteurized Prepared Cheese, 3 pounds: UPC 0 2100060491 3 with “best when used by” dates of Jan. 9 – 13, 2024 and Jan. 16, 2024
There have been several complaints regarding this recall, to include six customers complaining of choking. No injuries or serious health issues have been reported.
Customers should return the product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
