Kedake Inc. issues allergy alert on undeclared sesame, soy, wheat, yellow no. 5, yellow no. 6 and red no. 6 in Botana mix snacks
Kedake Inc. is recalling two-pound packages of Las Ollas Botana mix snacks, because they may contain undeclared sesame, soy, wheat, yellow no 5, yellow no 6 and red no 6, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Feb. 24.
People who have an allergy, or severe sensitivity to milk, run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The product was distributed nationwide in Texas and reached consumers through both wholesale and retail stores.
The recalled product is in a plastic bag with a pink and white label displaying the name “Botana Mix Snacks and Delights” with the Las Ollas brand label. The bag clearly states two-pounds on the front. Nutrition facts and ingredients are also listed on the front of the package. There is a UPC on the front as well. The expiration date is on the back of the package.
Consumers who have purchased the product are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Kedake, Inc. at 713-996-7550, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, Monday through Friday.
