Johnsonville recalls ground pork patty products
Johnsonville, LLC is voluntarily recalling over 48,000 pounds of ground pork patty products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically black rubber, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Jan. 18.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, lead consumer safety officer for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following raw ground frozen pork patty products bearing UPC 7778200088 and establishment number 34225 are affected by this recall:
- Johnsonville Grillers CHEDDAR CHEESE & BACON FLAVOR, 24 ounces: with “best flavor by” dates of July 24 and Aug. 13 - 14
The establishment number can be found on the end of the carton directly under the “best flavor by” date. There have been no reports of illness or injury to date.
Customers should return the product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
