Hot days call for cool treats: Shop your commissary during National Ice Cream Month
FORT GREGG-ADAMS, Va. – I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! As the temperatures rise during the summer months, the delicious frozen treats help cool us off.
July is National Ice Cream Month, and your local commissary has a wide selection of frozen treats for those hot summer days.
“It’s the perfect time to spend with family and friends and cool off with an ice cream treat from the commissary,” said Navy Command Master Chief Mario Rivers, senior enlisted advisor to the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) director. “Customers can find ice cream in sizes ranging from gallons to pints and single serve cups, bars and cones in a variety of tempting flavors. The commissary has all your favorites covered and at significant savings.”
Not surprisingly, commissary ice cream sales are much higher in the summer months, according to Kim Galvin, a frozen/dairy merchandising specialist at DeCA’s Headquarters and Support Center. Shoppers can look out for the below treats and more this summer season:
