Gerber® recalls baby food pouches due to possible spoilage
Nestlé is voluntarily recalling specific Gerber Organic 2nd Foods Pouch products after identifying a packaging issue during manufacturing that may result in product spoilage during transportation and handling.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, the lead consumer safety officer for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
The following products are affected by this recall:
- Gerber® Organic 2nd Foods Pouches - Pears Carrots and Peas, 3.5 ounce pouch: UPC 1500007431
- Batch 51945335XX with "best by date" of July 12, 2016
- Batch 51955335XX with "best by date" of July 13, 2016
- Gerber® Organic 2nd Foods Pouches - Carrots, Apples and Mangoes, 3.5 ounce pouch: UPC 1500007439
- Batch 51955335XX with "best by date" of July 13, 2016
- Batch 51965335XX with "best by date" of July 14, 2016
This recall does not impact any other Gerber products.
Customers who purchased any of these products at the commissary should bring them back for a refund.
