Foster Farms Brand Mini Chicken Corn Dogs recalled
House of Raeford is voluntarily recalling 76,961 pounds of corn dogs because of possible spoilage, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent July 1.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, chief, public health division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product has an establishment number of “P-9136” printed on the package and bearing UPC 0 75278 95145 3 is affected by this recall:
- Foster Farms Mini Corn Dogs Bite-Sized Chicken Franks Dipped in Batter Honey Crunchy Flavor, 16.83-pound resealable bag with lot codes 123114 and 222114 and best if used by date of April 23, 2024
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the firm notified FSIS that it received consumer complaints that the product had an odor, off appearance and unpleasant taste.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
