Flowers Foods recalls Tastykake® chocolate Kandy Kakes due to undeclared peanuts
Flowers Foods is voluntarily recalling certain Tastykake® Chocolate Kandy Kakes due to undeclared peanuts, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent May 24.
Consumers who are sensitive or have allergies to peanuts should not eat this product and should discard any product they may have.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The product being recalled was distributed on May 11, 2023, to retail customers in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia and West Virginia. The packages have an “Enjoy By” date of June 5, 2023, on the side of the package, and UPC 0 25600 00225 4.

No related illnesses or incidents connected to this recall have been reported.
Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
