Entenmann’s Little Bites Soft Baked Cookies recalled

Bimbo Bakeries USA, Inc. is voluntarily recalling one variety of Entenmann’s Little Bites Soft Baked Cookies because they may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically blue plastic pieces in the individual packaging pouch, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Aug. 2.  The material was not baked into the product, but was introduced during the packaging process. However, possible consumption may result in a choking hazard.

The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, supervisory consumer safety officer for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves. 

The following product is affected by this recall:

• Entenmann’s Little Bites Soft Baked Chocolate Chip Cookies, 5 pack: UPC 7203002378 and lot code 1350 with  “best by” dates of Aug. 31 and Sep. 7
  
   

The UPC code can be found in the lower right hand corner on the back of the box. The “best by” date can be found on the top of the box and the lot code is to the left of the top of the box underneath the price/lb.

There have been no confirmed reports of injury related to this recall. No other Entenmann’s Little Bites Muffins or Entenmann’s brand products are affected.

Customers should return the product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
