Off The Eaten Path Chickpea Veggie Crisps recalled
Frito-Lay is voluntarily recalling over 16,000 bags of their Off The Eaten Path Chickpea Veggie Crisps because they may contain milk, an undeclared allergen, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Nov. 9. The recall was initiated after a customer complaint revealed the presence of caramel seasoned crisps inside the Chickpea Veggie Crisps bag, exposing consumers to the undeclared allergen.
Those with milk allergies or sensitivities run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
