Doritos Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips recalled
Frito-Lay is voluntarily recalling a limited number of their 14.5 oz and 1 oz bags of Doritos Nacho Cheese Flavored Tortilla Chips because they may contain undeclared soy and wheat ingredients from their spicy sweet chili tortilla chip product, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Aug. 1. Those with allergies or sensitivities to wheat or soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following products are affected by this recall:
- Doritos Nacho Cheese Flavored Tortilla Chips, 1 ounce: UPC 0 28400 09089 6 with “Guaranteed Fresh Date” Sept. 26 and manufacturing code/time stamp of 465218034, X 22:47 - 22:54
- Doritos Nacho Cheese Flavored Tortilla Chips Party Size, 14.5 ounces: UPC 0 28400 51779 9 with “Guaranteed Fresh Date” Sept. 26 and manufacturing codes/time stamps of either 465218037, X 22:47 - 22:59 or 465218137, X 23:00 - 23:06
There have been no reports of adverse effects related to this recall and no other Frito-Lay or Doritos products, flavors, sizes, or variety packs are affected.
Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
