DoD initiates recall on Blue Bell Banana Nut Ice Cream
The Department of Defense is initiating a recall on one size of Blue Bell Banana Nut Ice Cream due to nonconforming laboratory results for coliform bacteria during sample testing, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent April 27. The result does not meet the requirement defined in the “Department of Defense Food Safety and Quality Assurance Laboratory Action Levels” table, as published in Appendix O of the USAPHC Circular 40-1, “Worldwide Directory of Sanitarily Approved Food Establishments for Armed Forces Procurement.”
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves. Additionally, all products have been removed from the affected plant.

The product code may be found around the edge of the lid.
Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
