Diamond of California Chocolate Nut Pie Crust recalled
Diamond Foods, LLC is voluntarily recalling specific Chocolate Nut Pie Crust products due to the presence of live larvae in the crust, according to a recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency’s food safety office sent March 29.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, chief, public health division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following item is affected by this recall:
- Diamond of California Ready to Use Chocolate Nut Pie Crust, 6 ounces: UPC 076811040511 and lot code 40221222422610 with “best before” date of Aug. 10.
Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
