Defense Commissary Agency removes a pistachio product from store shelves
The Defense Commissary Agency has instructed all stores to pull Kraft Planters Dry Roasted Pistachios with a specific “best by” date of March 30, 2018, from shelves due to a possible insect infestation of the product, according to a withdrawal notice from the Defense Commissary Agency’s food safety office sent Nov. 17.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this withdrawal to all its stores, said Chris Wicker, a public health advisor for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product is affected by this withdrawal:
- Kraft Planters Dry Roasted Pistachios, 12.75 ounce: UPC 0 29000 01706 1 with “best by” date of March 30, 2018
No other Kraft products are impacted by this withdrawal.
Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
