DeCA withdraws Blendtopia product due to hemp seeds
DeCA is pulling Blendtopia’s Superfood Smoothie Kit from store shelves due to the presence of hemp seeds, according to a recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency’s food safety office sent March 26. A withdrawn product does not present food safety risks, only quality concerns.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product is affected by this recall:
- Blendtopia Superfood Smoothie Kit 7 ounces: UPC: 6837200020, Lot Number: PC313032 PCMB1313, Best if used by date: Feb. 1.
Customers should return the product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
