Cheese Nips recalled
Mondelēz Global LLC is voluntarily recalling a limited quantity of Cheese Nips products because they may be contaminated with extraneous small food-grade yellow plastic pieces, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Nov. 15. The pieces originated from a dough scraper in the production process
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product is affected by this recall:
- Cheese Nips, 11 ounce box: UPC: 0 44000 03453 5 with “best when used by” dates of 18 – 20 May, 2020
There have been no reports of injury related to this recall and no other Cheese Nips products are impacted.
Customers should return the product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
