Bimbo Bakeries recalls brownies and muffins due to foreign matter

Bimbo Bakeries USA Inc. is recalling several items of Entenmann's products due to the presence of small pieces of plastic caused by a manufacturing failure at one of its contracted bakeries, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Sept. 1.

The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Chris Wicker, a public health advisor for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.

"Our commissaries do carry these products," Wicker said. "Customers in the affected states can bring them back to the stores for a full refund."

The following products are affected by this recall:
