Golden Flake Snack Foods, Inc. recalls chips due to undeclared allergens
Golden Flake Snack Foods is voluntarily recalling a limited number of its Hot Thin and Crispy potato chips because they may contain milk and other dairy ingredients not listed on the package, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Jan. 17.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Christopher Wicker, a public health advisor for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product is affected by this recall:
- Golden Flake Hot Thin & Crispy Potato Chips 5 ounce: UPC 0-72080-00240-3, "best if used by" date of April 14, 2017, Product code lots – 365 5 and 364 5.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to dairy products run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
