Cooking Light frozen entrée recalled
Perfect Fit Meals LLC is voluntarily recalling a specific "From the Kitchen of Cooking Light Magazine" frozen entree due to misbranding and undeclared allergens according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Jan. 11. The product, labeled Lemon Pepper Chicken, actually contains a different product, Blackened Chicken Breast, which contains milk and wheat allergens which are not declared on the product label.
Those with milk or wheat-related allergies run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Christopher Wicker, a public health advisor for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product is affected by this recall:
- From the Kitchen of Cooking Light Magazine Lemon Pepper Chicken, 10.5 ounces: Lot code 2457744.2 with "use or freeze by" date of Jan. 21, 2017 and bearing the establishment number P-827 inside the USDA mark of inspection.
No illnesses have been reported. Customers should return this product to the commissary where it was purchased for a full refund.
