Gorton’s Seafood recalls frozen seafood sandwich due to bone fragments

Gorton’s Seafood is voluntarily recalling one of their frozen seafood items, due to large and/or sharp bone fragments, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent April 28.

The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.

The company is recalling 504 packages made on a specific date, in a specific time range and sold to select retailers including commissaries located in North Carolina, Virginia and Puerto Rico. The recalled product can be identified by the date code and time range listed below.

•    UPC: 0 44400 15440 6
•    DATE CODE: 2060F2
•    TIME RANGE: 15:30-17:30

No other Gorton’s products or date codes are involved in this recall. Customers should return these products to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
