Kraft Heinz Recalls Powdered Beverages Due to Potential Presence of Foreign Material

Kraft Heinz is voluntarily recalling approximately 58,000 cases of select code dates of Country Time Lemonade and limited Kool-Aid powdered beverages because of the potential presence of foreign material, specifically very small pieces of metal or glass, that may have been introduced during production, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Nov. 12.

The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, chief, public health division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.

The following items are affected by this recall:

• Country Time Pink Lemonade, 19 ounces in plastic package: UPC 0 43000 951149 with “best when used by” dates of Aug. 30 and 3, 2023
• Kool-Aid Tropical Punch, 19 ounces in plastic package: UPC 0 43000 953501 with “best when used by” dates of June 13, Aug. 31, Sept. 1, 4, and 5, 2023
• Country Time Lemonade, 82.5-ounce canister: UPC 0 43000 928608 with “best when used by” dates of Aug. 28 – 30 and Sept. 3 - 4, 2023
• Country Time Pink Lemonade, 82.5-ounce canister: UPC 0 43000 928615 with “best when used by” date of Aug. 30, 2023
• Kool-Aid Tropical Punch, 82.5-ounce canister: UPC 0 43000 957400 with “best when used by” dates of Aug. 30-31 and Sept. 1, 2023
• Country Time Lemonade On the Go Sticks, 6.7 ounces: UPC 0 43000 002988 with “best when used by” dates of Sept. 20-21 and Oct. 3, 2023

The company discovered the issue during an internal review at the manufacturing facility. There have been no consumer complaints and no reports of illness or injury related to this issue to date.

No other sizes, varieties or code dates of Country Time Lemonade, Kool-Aid or other powdered beverages are included in this recall.

Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
