FORT LEE, Va. – The Defense Commissary Agency would like to welcome back military retirees and other eligible beneficiaries, such as disabled veterans and their designated family caregivers, Purple Heart recipients and former prisoners of war to shop their local commissary.
“It’s been a tough year dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, but as base restrictions ease up, we at the commissary hope to see some of our most loyal customers return to their store,” said Marine Sgt. Maj. Michael Saucedo, DeCA senior enlisted advisor to the director. “Shopping at your local commissary regularly can save you nearly 24 percent on your grocery shopping.”
With DeCA’s vision of being “THE grocery provider of choice for our eligible patrons,” commissaries worldwide are improving the shopping experience. Commissary CLICK2GO is one such improvement where customers order and pay for groceries online and pick them up without going into the store. The service began rolling out to all commissaries in June.
“We look forward to seeing you back in our stores, and we are sure you will find it worth the trip again,” Saucedo added. “And while you’re on base, please take advantage of all the other savings available at base exchanges and morale, welfare and recreation outlets.”
