Freedom’s Choice Grape Jelly recalled
The Defense Commissary Agency is voluntarily recalling one size of their Freedom’s Choice Grape Jelly, because a thickening agent from a different supplier did not result in the correct consistency, according to a recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency’s food safety office sent March 5. The recalled product poses no health risk.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product is affected by this recall:
- Freedom’s Choice Grape Jelly, 18 ounces: UPC: 8-42798-10286 with lot code SMY20123 122821 and a “sell by” date of Dec. 28.
Customers should return the product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
