Dole Sunflower Crunch Chopped Salad Kit recalled
Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc. is voluntarily recalling two lot codes of their Dole Sunflower Crunch Chopped Salad Kits because a packaging error resulted in the possible presence of wheat and tree nuts, undeclared allergens, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Feb. 9. The dressing and topping package included in the recalled kits was designed for a different Dole product.
Those with allergies run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product is affected by this recall:
- Dole Sunflower Crunch Chopped Salad Kit: UPC 0-71430-00034-2 with a “best if used by” date of Feb. 11 and lot codes W02702A and W02702B
The lot code and “best if used by” date can be found on the top right corner of each bag. The UPC is located on the bottom right corner of the back of the bag. No other Dole products or UPC codes are affected by this recall.
Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
