Lean Cuisine Baked Chicken Meal recalled

Nestlé Prepared Foods is voluntarily recalling a specific lot code of its frozen Lean Cuisine Baked Chicken meal because they may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically pieces of hard white plastic according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Dec. 20. Consumption of hard or sharp foreign material could cause injury to teeth, mouth, throat, stomach or intestine tissues if swallowed.

The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.   

The following product is affected by this recall expansion:

• Lean Cuisine Baked Chicken, White Meat Chicken with Stuffing, Red Skin Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, 8 5/8 ounces: Lot code 0246595911, USDA establishment number “P-9018” and a “best before” date of Oct. 2021

The USDA establishment number can be found inside the USDA mark of inspection.

There have been five consumer complaints but no reports of illness or injury related to this recall.

Customers should check their freezer for the product and return it to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
