Oberto recalls smoked sausage snack
Oberto Snacks Inc. is voluntarily recalling over 300 pounds of their smoked sausage products because it contains soy, an undeclared allergen, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Aug. 24. The nutrition and ingredient label did not list soy as an ingredient.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product, bearing the establishment number “EST. 2862B” inside the USDA mark of inspection, is affected by this recall:
- Cattleman’s Cut Smoked Sausages Old Fashioned, 3 ounces: Best by date code “BEST BY 21MAR2021 22” and a time range between 18:35 to 19:15.
Only products produced during this time range are affected by this recall.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions from consumption of this product. Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
