Orchids Dried Shitake Mushroom product recalled
CTC Food International, Inc. is voluntarily recalling its Orchids Dried Shitake Mushroom product because it may contain undeclared sulfites, according to a recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency’s food safety office sent Oct. 13.
Those with sulfite allergies or sensitivities run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, supervisory consumer safety officer for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product is affected by this recall:
- Orchids Dried Mushroom, Shitake, 1 ounce: UPC 0-74601-00947 with “Best Buy” date of Nov. 2020
The “Best Buy” date can be found at the bottom of the back of the package.
Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
