HP Hood LLC recalls limited number of half-gallon almond milk cartons due to undeclared allergen
HP Hood LLC is voluntarily recalling a limited number of half gallon cartons of refrigerated Vanilla Almond Breeze almond milk because the product may contain actual milk, an undeclared allergen, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Aug 2.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Jorge Acevedo, a consumer safety officer for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following products are affected by this recall:
- Vanilla Almond Breeze almond milk: UPC 4157005621. To help identify the product customers should look for the stamped information listed below:

To date, there has been one report of an allergic reaction, according to a release from the Food & Drug Administration. The product is safe to consume for those without milk allergies.
