NEX to sell commissary gift cards
The Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) and the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) have teamed up to sell commissary gift cards at a NEX near you. Monday, June 4, marked the official launch of commissary gift cards at 43 NEX locations.
Retired Rear Adm. Robert J. Bianchi, chief executive officer, NEXCOM, and interim director and CEO, DeCA, announced this collaboration and participated in joint launch event on June 4 at the NEX on Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia.
“NEXCOM and DeCA teams have provided a win-win for our shared patrons,” Bianchi said. “This coordinated effort seeks to provide our deserving customers additional convenience, and throughout the year our teams will be continuing the collaboration on other joint opportunities and events for our service members and their families.”
The commissary gift card can be loaded with an amount range of $5-$300. These gift cards will be located at NEX registers at the front of the stores.
This is a great partnership for NEX and Commissary co-patrons,” said Melissa Dodson-Dozier, NEXCOM, district vice president of the Tidewater Region. “At NEXCOM we strive to provide quality goods at a savings and by serving those who serve us!”
DeCA’s Bob Bunch, agency gift card program manager, agreed. “This is a major move forward for our program, and we are happy to work with the Navy Exchange to provide another opportunity to give the gift of groceries to our military and their families.”
