DeCA recalls some ground beef in Europe commissaries
The Defense Commissary Agency is recalling 3,900 pounds of 93-percent ground beef and 93-percent ground beef patties with a production date of May, 4, 2018, from 18 DeCA Europe Area commissaries because a small piece of metal was discovered in a package sold at Spangdahlem Commissary, Germany.
The recall involves only 93-percent ground beef and only at the following 18 commissary locations: Ankara, Izmir and Incirlik, Turkey; Lakenheath and Mildenhall, England; Chievres, Belgium; Schinnen, the Netherlands; Hohenfels, Ansbach, Baumholder, Grafenwoehr, Patch, Ramstein, Spangdahlem, Vilseck, Vogelweh, and Wiesbaden, Germany; and Aviano, Italy.
“The safety of our customers is paramount. Signs have been posted in the stores alerting customers to return their purchased products to the store for a full refund.” said Norman Brown, DeCA Europe director.
