Cesar Classics Dog Food recalled for potential choking hazard
Mars Petcare is voluntarily recalling a limited number of Cesar Classics Filet Mignon Flavor wet dog food product because they may contain small pieces of plastic introduced during production, according to a recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency's food safety office sent Oct. 18.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this product withdrawal to all its stores. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product is affected by this recall:
- Cesar Classics Filet Mignon Flavor: UPC 23100017792, Lot Codes of 631FKKC and 631GKKC with "best before" dates of Aug. 4, 2018 and Aug. 5, 2018.
The lot code is located on the side of the tray. The product is sold individually, as well as in variety packs.
The Cesar Classics Filet Mignon Flavor can be found in variety packs with the following lot codes: 632D14JC, 633B24JC, 634A14JC, 634A24JC, 634B14JC, 634B24JC, 634E14JC, 635A24JC, 635B14JC, 636D24JC, 636E14JC.
To date, there have been no reports of injury or illness.
Customers who purchased this product at the commissary can return it for a refund.
