Orange Juice, Tampico Brand Citrus Punch recalled
Hiland Dairy is voluntarily recalling two products because they may contain undeclared milk allergens, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Jan. 14.
Those with milk allergies run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this withdrawal to all its stores, said Chris Wicker, a public health advisor for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
The following products are affected by this recall:
- Hiland Dairy Orange Juice, one gallon: UPC 0-7206000586-8 with a “Sell By” date of Feb. 5, 2018, and plant code 3108
- Tampico Citrus Punch, one gallon: UPC 0-9518801128-3 with a “Sell By” date of March 9, 2018, and plant code 3108
There have been no reported illnesses. Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
Consumers with questions may contact Hiland Dairy at (402) 740-2254, Monday through Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., CST.
