Philadelphia Cream Cheese recalls products due to tampering
The Defense Department’s Hazardous Food and Nonprescription Drug Recall System has announced a recall of Philadelphia Cream Cheese due to possible tampering, according to a DOD All Food and Drug Activity message sent Oct. 6.
Some of the cream cheese products have been found to have holes poked in the product packaging. All Philadelphia Cream Cheese products, to include all lots, UPCs, sizes and flavors should be inspected prior to sale and use.
Customers who’ve purchased the products at a commissary should bring them back to the store for a full refund.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its affected stores, said Jorge Acevedo, a consumer safety officer for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
