Clif Bar & Company recalls protein bars
Clif Bar & Company is voluntarily recalling several flavors of its protein bars due to undeclared allergens not listed in the ingredients, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent July 5.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, lead consumer safety officer for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
"We have confirmed that we carry one of the products listed in the recall," said Stith. "However, patrons who are not allergic to peanuts and tree nuts should not have an issue with the product."
The following product is affected by this recall and sold in commissaries:
- Builders Chocolate Mint 12 count: UPC 7-22252-60144-5, lot codes: 05APR16M3 – 23APR18M3
Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
