Yummy brand frozen chicken products recalled
Maxi Canada Inc. is voluntarily recalling several frozen chicken products due to undeclared milk allergens, according to a recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency's food safety office sent June 20. A supplier-provided ingredient used in the products may contain milk, which is not declared on the product label.
Those with milk allergies run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Chris Wicker, a public health advisor for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
The following products are affected by this recall:
- Yummy Whole Grain Chicken Breast Fries: UPC 6456322316 with "Best if Used by" dates of Jan. 3 & 19, 2019; Feb. 16, 2019 and April 12, 2019
