WFSP Foods recalls chicken products
WFSP Foods LLC is voluntarily recalling about 42,000 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken breast products due to undercooking, resulting in the potential for bacterial pathogens in the products according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent April 25.
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, lead consumer safety officer for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
The following products are affected by this recall:
- Chef's Line All Natural Fire Grilled Chicken Breast, 9-lb. foodservice cases containing 8 poly film packages – Product code 22586, produced April 7, 2017 with a "best by" date of June 14, 2017
- Saladworks Fully Cooked Flame Grilled Chicken Breast Fillets, 9-lb. foodservice cases containing 8 poly film packages – Product code 22500, produced March 29, 2017 with a "use by" date of June 5, 2017
The affected products bear establishment number "P-45411" inside the USDA mark of inspection (view labels).
The company has received no confirmed reports of illness or injury associated with this recall.
Customers who purchased any of these products at the commissary should bring them back for a refund.
