A+D Diaper Rash Cream recalled
Bayer is voluntarily recalling A+D Diaper Rash Cream due to the presence of trace amounts of diethyl phthalate (DEP) according to a recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency's food safety office sent Feb. 23. The labeling on the affected product states that the product is "phthalate-free."
The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Christopher Wicker, a public health advisor for DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has a recalled or withdrawn product in its inventory, the product is immediately removed from store shelves.
The following products are affected by this recall:
- A+D Diaper Rash Cream, 1.5 ounces: UPC 41100811288
- A+D Diaper Rash Cream, 3 ounces: UPC 41100811301
- A+D Diaper Rash Cream, 4 ounces: UPC 41100811325
According to Bayer, the recall is a precautionary measure and the product is not likely to cause any adverse health consequences. Customers that purchased any of these products at the commissary should bring them back for a refund.
